The space is devoid of natural light, using warped mirrors, torn pages, or inverted symbols to create a dissonant atmosphere. Herbs such as wormwood or henbane are referenced in old texts for their mind altering properties and are placed symbolically at the corners of the working area. These are examples of things that may be used, and there will be more ritualistic items along with communication with different beings and energy work to bring forth the results needed.
 
A vessel of stagnant water is used to represent the subconscious mind, and into it are whispered the fractured thoughts or obsessions intended to take root in the target. The incantation is spoken in a reversed cadence, designed to mimic the breakdown of logical structure, invoking archetypes of madness, forgotten gods, or chaos spirits. A token like their name written in a sigil is then submerged, bound, or hidden, completing the ritual.
 
The effects of the curse may manifest gradually, beginning with intrusive thoughts, recurring dreams, or a loss of temporal orientation and eventually spiraling into hallucinations, paranoia, or emotional volatility.
