The addiction spell is used to support someone who is trying to break away from an addictive habit or pattern of behavior. The working is focused on reducing the pull of the habit, strengthening resistance, and encouraging a greater desire for change. It can be directed toward different forms of compulsive behavior, including substance related habits, gambling, food related behaviors, intimacy, or other patterns that have become difficult to control.

The initial manifestation appears as a gradual change in the person's relationship with the habit. They may begin thinking about it less, feel less compelled to engage in it, or become more aware of the consequences and patterns surrounding their behavior. As the working develops, the focus shifts toward resistance and interruption of the habitual cycle. This may manifest as stronger hesitation before giving in, increased motivation to stop, choosing alternative activities, or becoming more willing to remove themselves from situations that encourage the behavior.
As the spell reaches full strength, the intended manifestation is a significant reduction in the habit's influence over the person. They may become increasingly committed to changing their behavior, distancing themselves from triggers, rebuilding healthier routines, and maintaining greater control over their choices. Addiction can affect relationships and everyday circumstances as well as the individual behavior itself. As the working develops, it may also encourage greater willingness to repair damaged relationships, communicate more honestly, accept support, and make changes that move the person away from circumstances associated with the habit.
